Hi y'all,
I'm new here. I've played guitar for 18 years and have used lots of different amps over the years.
Recently, I came to realize that I've always gone for amps that are have very nice growl but I have no idea what the industry standards are.
When ever I record, I borrow a Fender for cleans and never really care which one it is as long as it conveys the sound I'm looking for. My amps have been either Marshalls or Mesa. I currently have a Mesa.
So, if I were to get a few more amps to add to my current Mesa, which should I look at?
Please give me 2 or 3 amps and what specifically you would do with the amp. I'm not interested in tone snobbery, I want to know which amps are considered industry standards and why.
I use a 1981 Ibanez Artist and a modified Fender Nashville Tele.
Thanks =) |

| dtfan4ever, if you are using the term industry standard the same as I would use benchmark, to me the benchmark for clean and warm is the Twin Reverb. |

Well, I guess you might throw an old Vox in there too, then.
An '81 Artist, eh? Those are Great guitars! _________________ "I love the smell of hot solder in the morning. It smells like victory." |
