Ok, so I have an Alvarez electric acoustic and I've been putting off buying an amp because I don't know what type to buy. I love the clarity of an acoustic amp, but I really like the options of an electric amp with effects and everything built right into it. I don't really have the cash to start getting into pedals and all of that so what would you suggest that I do? Are there any particular amps that you would suggest and why?

Thanks in advance!

have you checked into something like this ---> http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-GDEC-Junior-15-Watt-1x8-Combo-Amp?sku=485051
pretty cool for jammin' at home & an inexpensive way to check out different effects without buying all those pedals or a POD type thing.

if you have or can pick up a cheap amp, i would go this route ---> http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/ContentDetail/PressReleaseDetailPF/0,,CNTID%253D31993%2526CTID%253D551476,00.html
...to me, the best piece of gear an acoustic/acoustic-electric player can have ---a whole new fun world of playing opens up Cool

there are two versions ---> http://www.magicstomp.com/
one leans a bit more towards the all electric player while the other leans more towards the acoustic player---both will work with either . Cool

That's pretty cool, I've never seen that before! I can, however, afford a better amp. I can go up to $300. I want something with quality. I had an electric amp before and loved it, I had no idea I was using the wrong amp at all until someone told me later! I lost my Fender amp in a fire, it had all the effects built right into it. I miss it.
