hey,
what do you guys think about Hughes&Kettner amps?
i was leaning towards a mesa/boogie dual rectifier but now i'm having second thoughts about the price.
H&K switchblade is a couple hundred bucks cheaper,
but could i play metal with it? though my main thing is classic rock and blues...
what's the general consensus about the H&K duotones? as they are considerably cheaper.
help me out here. trying to make a purchase by the end of the month. |

If I were you, I'd buy an amp for your blues and rock, and run a
Visual Sounds Jeckyll & Hyde on the clean channel. Maybe change out
the speaker (if its a combo amp) if needed (one that could handle the
metal sound better). |

I know someone who has a switchblade, and believe me, it is a versatile amp. The guy who owns it plays mainly blues rock but i play metal, amongst other things, and there are quite a lot of tones; just test it out if you are in doubt.
Plus, the switchblade is also a programmable amp so you can store loads of your favorite tones! no need for a bundle of pedals... hope this helps in some way |
