Hello,
I own a Top Hat King Royale combo amp - 2x12 class A tube amp -
i have an ATA flight case for it and am flying from Texas To Washington State -- jsut wondering should i take the tubes out and take them as carry on? I went and played a few hours away from home rrscently and we hit a rather larg dip and all the gear got a split second of air time and after ward i noticed my tubes were a little loose - and that what got me thinking about maybe removing the tubes for the flight and putting them back in ( i would of course never allow any part of my skin to physically touch the tube itself and would make sure each is wrapped correctly ) but not sure if thats woudl be good or bad for my amp or my tubes for that matter. Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks!

| Loose tubes are not a problem. Most of the techs we deal with re-seat the tubes when they are unloaded after travelling. Every time. If you take the tubes out, you run the risk of something happening to them. As long as the tube retainers are being used, a plane ride shouldn't be a problem. |
