Hmmmmmmm....you're right |
the reason is my list changes so very often--sometimes weekly ....seriously....i'm so addicted to the buying & selling that at any given time i post a list , that list has changed within a few days time...but i guess i do have a few select pieces of gear that don't leave the stable i could consider as definate keepers........so here they are in no particular order as of April '07 >>>

this list was also quite different while i was still gigging-i liked amps in the 18 watt range-now that i'm not, i no longer have anything as an at home player above 10 watts (which i hardly ever play anymore, so that may be on the selling block soon too !!)---i prefer 2 to 5 watts now.
i won't get into my collector amps & guitars--thats private info stuff
the list of amps & guitars i've owned & sold just in the last few years amazes even me

hmmmmm.....now that i'm not buying gear, i think i'll get me a new boat _________________ ~T~...Live a little >crank it up< ...

You know owwdatune, I just have to share this.
My father-in-law has told me on more then one occasion...
"There's 3 things in this world you should never buy. A horse, a boat,
or someone else's pain in the *Horse's Patoot*"
(keep in mind, he never told me this during the period of time he owned
a boat) |

|
My name is James and I am a new guitar player but I've been playing bass for about 16 years.
My equipment list is:
Bass= Squier Precision with Jazz pickup mod (fitted it myself when I was 16)
Bass Amp= Hartke HA3500 (beautiful sound)
Guitar= Squier Tele Custom
Guitar Amp= Custom Sound CUB100 Bi-channel MOSFET
Which brings me to my question. Does anyone know anything about this amp because it's got a great big hole in the main PCB where the track has burnt out. I am trying to find the original circuit diagrams otherwise I'll have to figure out what's going on from generic mosfet schematics.
Please help
All the best, guys,
James |

Errr....
I am not going to list the equipment, because my GAS means it would take far too long.
Suffice to say, a lot of stuff.
I'll probably post some photos of the amps on here soon though.... |

ANOTHER UPDATE:..09/13/08..
...a fresh change of lifestyle/habitat/location necessitates a change of gear selection......
-cancelled the Vox Virage--won't have a use for it & space is an issue..
-traded the UltraSound AG50 acoustic amp & got a new Fishman SoloAmp...will be better suited for the space available..
-sold off most of the high end collectibles..
-keeping everything else-just most will be landlocked..
-going with me to cover my acoustic needs will be: ..the SoloAmp--the Washburn WB40 and the Morgan Monroe Creekside MV-01..
-electric needs should be covered quite well with the recently completed Gilmore jr. combo, paired with my soon to be completed custom-bilt Hawk guitar..Verbzilla & Hoochie Mamma pedals and the MXR 10 band EQ.
thats it--- i really don't see anything changing since this fits the new lifestyle perfectly..
--Ohhh...i did pick up a new Mack Heatseeker 18 watt head.....really great sounds...don't know what i'll do with it but the darn thing sounded so wonderful i couldn't walk away from it.. ....I guess if i need something with great tone to gig with again, i'll have it .....i really need to quit listening to any more amps !!!!! _________________ ~T~...Live a little >crank it up< ...

owwdatune - your updated prompted my update.. although I don't go through
NEAR the equipment as you.
guitars:
Les paul mahogany studio (still)
a different custom made strat copy (then last time)
a tacoma acoustic guitar (still)
My amp is a Fender hotrod deluxe using a 2x12 cab (settled & happy)
(I have 'project amps', but they don't count as I won't keep them)
I still use & love my boomerang loooper, and a few pedals - although I'm
still jazzed about my BBE green screamer - I've had it for a while and it
still sounds great.
Not much has changed..... a guitar here, an amp there.... I'm boring but
happy
p.s. - although I plan on pretty soon trying out a 3x12 tower cab.. we'll see. |

Hey everybody,
I went through several guitars, somehow I ended up making them useless as far as intonation is concerned. I started out playing maybe 7 years ago with a modified Epiphone SG 400 which I modified a few years later. Basically what I did is sand down the nut a little. This allowed me to dump the normal .10 strings 6 pack and trade in for a 7 string version. I simply used the 6 lowest strings from that package and I had my 7 string guitar with 6 strings. Be careful when sanding so you don't overdo it. If you got an electric guitar which you do not use that often (maybe because you have better ones) AND if you like very low guitar sounds (I'm not talking Dropped D, I am talking dropped H or even dropped A!). Fire the bass player and be happy!
But there were some more, I'll just list them.
Ibanez RG 320 FA (I manually locked the tremolo using a nicely cut and precisely sanded piece of wood to jam the tremolo from the back)
Takamine EG 530 SC (my heart and soul, I love that babe)
Schecter Blackjack C-1 (this is my girl for times when I have to be heard, oh and she really likes her new Amp partner)
I started out with a Marshall MG MK2, then later I played my POD 2.0 + Floorboard over a 2x400 W PA system (who needs a fullstack anyway?)
I currently play the Flextone 3 by Line6, best Amp I have ever played. The XL Version of course - Stereoeffects over 2X12 speaker are simply awesome + I play louder with that combo than the two guitar players from the band in the next room (2x75W - and I'm not kidding). So have a look into that one should you have recently been looking for a kickass amp with student price level.
For recording I use a Line6 Toneport UX2, I am FastFret freak and well, I use cheap *Horse's Patoot* strings which in my opinion does not KILL the good tone. I pay a Euro for a pack of 6 strings #-) however for Studiorecordings I would always use decent strings.
Wow I'm sure I forgot a lot but this shall be enough for now. Kinda nice to reconstruct the gear past - I'm sure there's a lot more to come.
As you all know, the moment you get a new guitar a new guitar is what you want. In my case I will go to semi acoustic (because I love the feel and attacky sound of the Takamine but need the advantages of amplification without TOO MUCH feedback). I am currently looking at the
Ibanez Artcore AM73B-BKF
Any of you can give me a recommendation?
I personally think this guitar is killer, even though it is almost too inexpensive.
Keep playin guys
