PS, any good ideas for making a pedal board?

Some of my friends have used plywood and crates... do you think its worth investing in one of those expensive pedalboards with the built in outlets?

For what its worth, I built mine. works out fine.

The only downfall on building one (I found) was the design /implementation of
how I was going to transport the pedals safely. But if you just need a board
to use at home, build away.

Hey T-dub, how are ya?

Did you make your board with multiple 9 volt jacks so you don't have to hook up all those a/c adapters? Is that a hard thing to do? ...I've been thinking about this myself....

When I built my board (a long time ago - I haven't used pedals for years now) I bought a Radio Shack 12v power supply and put whatever plugs were necessary on the ends of the wires from it to run my 9v pedals. Everything worked just fine, I never burned anything up and nothing operated abnormally. No wall warts, and just one 120v item to plug in. I had 16 different pedals on that board.

I'm moving along firedude.

Lets see if I can put this in words.
Picture this - a pedal board with two rows - the second row (further away
from you) is lifted up a few inches, and tilted at an angle. So underneath
the board that the second row of pedals are sitting on is a fair amount of
empty space - where I put the power strip.

16 pedals & 12V ?? HERB! And here I thought you were a good direction

Here, I drew this up real quick.. kind of like this...

I made it this way primarily for my looper. The looper sits on the bottom
right infront of the raised part. It would have been a little inconvienient to
get to the pedals if I had to go 'over' the looper, so my regular pedals are
on the raised part, and the looper is on the bottom. There is also some
room on the far left side for 2 pedals and my amps footswitch.

I should have said that on the power strip I have a
Visual Sounds 1-spot for the pedals and the special adaptor for the looper.

Try Pedal Train... Not expensive, (soft case) and 3 sizes to choose from.

Plywood and velcro or cable ties work... but not so pretty and easy to carry.
