|

Hi!
I like what I've seen here so far- everbody seems to be really friendly and helpful, so....
I have a Fender Blues Deluxe. It is a 1990s amp, but I don't know the exact year. Serial number is T - 061250 if that helps anyone put a year to it.
When on the "drive" channel, the "Master" control goes from 0 to very loud on virtually no travel of the pot. I want to have more scope of lower volume before the amp gets really loud. I have been told that linear pots were used on these. If that's so would changing the pot to a log pot have the desired effect? Or is there more to it than that?
Any help will be very much appreciated!! |

That is ALL that there is too it.
Its suppose to be a sales gimmick (using linear pots) - I don't know, but they
are frustrating, regardless. Change it to logarithmic and your problem will
go away.
Oh, and welcome to the forum. |

Many thanks for the reply - sorry it has taken me a while before I could post back.
Will changing the value of the pot to a 500k instead of 250k give even more control at lower volume, or is it purely down to the log aspect? |

More control? I don't know. But its suppose to change the treble roll off
a little. The higher the value, the more treble. If I were you, and you
replace it, I would replace it with the same value. Just one cats opinion.
Thats why we have bass, mid, & treb. knobs
Mod on!! |
