Hi!
Go easy on the new guy please!!
I have a Fender Blues Deluxe 40 watt from about 1997 - 1998 ish. It is a UK amp with the approriate transformers etc for running on 240v ac @ 50 Hz
I like the amp, but feel that sometimes some more drive would be no bad thing. A long time ago I looked at the schematic and if memory serves...
one of the preamp tubes appeared to have three pins that were simply wired to each other, and not to the rest of the circuit. This was indicated in a little box seperate to the rest of the circuit diagram. Was this indicating an unused part of the tube that I could wire into the preamp stage to create extra drive, and maybe install a switch to allow me to turn the feature on / off as required?
Or would any modification, as Fender would have me believe, lead to my instant death, the destruction of the northern hemisphere and nine centuries of plague and pestilence for those that survive the aftermath of my attempts to change the amp's original specification?
Any suggestions from those fortunate enough to posess knowledge and / or experience will be gratefully received!!

How about this? I never tired it though.
Looks like it does take advantage of that spare half of V2.
