| I am looking for best sound quality, versatility, and tone. I play mostly blues so a good overdrive/crunch and clean is desired. Wah must also be good, along with delay and a nice distortion. Which one? |

In my opinion neither. But I see you're looking specificly at the 200 dollar range. So if you have to take one of these take the Digitech. I think you'll be happiest with the delay and modulation sounds from this box. My first box was one of the early RPs and the expression pedal on it was pretty solid. The floor pod looks plastic and the wahs have never been good on the pods. For a beginner I impressed a few instructors not only with my early adoption of the wah but with the sounds i got out of the RP box.
I would do some research and find a good analog dirt box for your distortion and use the Digitech box strictly for modulation, delay, and filters. Get the editor software running and strip all the presets of the amp models. Maybe a modified SD-1 or one of the DOD 250 reissues which aren't suppose to be as great as the originals but its a step in the right direction. You can also get those modded. I had a podxt live and sold it. Just wasn't doing it for me. The might give you a good tone but for proper touch playing thats so crucial to blues your really stripped of the dynamics that good analog gear affords you. Not that line 6 isn't capable of producing that its just a lot harder to find. |

| i never used a pod.. but i have used a rp350.. and it is nice... not only can you use a bunch of presets... you can create your own effects via computer and sync it to the unit... the only factor that would matter in choosing is price... rp350 is over 400 i think... and the pod is 200-300 depending on model.... i think pod wins with portability (put in your pocket and take along your small combo) |

| oooo.. the rp350 is 200... maybe it was 300 at one time.. i dunno.. a lot of people dont like those sort of effects.. i also like the tonelab... just cause it seems more like a stomp box thats all wired rather then programmed.. even though im sure it is both... |
