Hi Everyone,

I'm brand new here and I am here because I had a question for the amp experts.

I've noticed that amps that use two stereo amps (say two 60w amps and two speakers in one cabinet) are rated at twice the individual wattage (in this case 120w).

So my question is does this mean that using two amps of the same wattage together essentially double your wattage?

Specifically I want to use two 15w amps to get to a rating of 30w.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, that it how they used to do it before miked amps into the P.A. It was normal at an outdoor concert to see a guitarist playing through 10 or more Marshall stacks. 10- 100W stacks equal 1000W of power.

Great! I want to try using two vox pathfinders instead of an AC30. I know the two pathfinders will likely not be quite as loud as the AC30, but even if they together equal a respectable 30watts then I will be happy!

Thanks again for the reply!

The two amp's speakers have to be in phase to sound best. Also unless you boost the signal from the guitar rather than just "Y" this signal, the sound can suffer also. Maybe someone who is more familiar with doing this can help with more info. I've done it using the line out of the master amp. We slaved my Twin Reverb II with a friends 100W Fender. It was loud.
