Hi all, I'm after a bit of advice. I'm in the market for a new amp, i want class A amp, around 5-10 watts. Currently i'm looking at the Peavey Valveking Royal 8, Laney LionHeart 5 watt model and the Hayden Blonde range. In fact i'll entertain pretty much any brand/model/price up to about £500. I'd also like the amp to be quite forgiving as i've owned a few unforgiving amps i got a bit frustrated with them. Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated. Primarliy i play rock/metal and i know that a class A amp and Metal sounds like a bizarre combination, but when i first started playing guitar, my friend had a Farfisa amp and i ran a Frontline Distortion into it. Strangely to this day i've never been able to replicate the sound it produced, then it dawned on me his amp was a class A amp which brings me to wanting a new amp! Any ideas ?

Have you looked at the BlackHeart Line? This is a good time to be looking for such an amp there is a lot out there in that range. You may want to consider buying one of the lower end models and getting it modified (or doing it yourself if you're handy). Some great results can come out getting this new breed of cheap tube amps modded.

I'm still loving my Epiphone Valve Junior! Now that I've modded it, that little booger is one raving maniac! Cool
