Hi all I'm new to this board, but it seemed a good place to ask around . I have a Epiphone valve junior head with the Bitmo trio mods and the hammond 125dse upgrade, and the JJ tube replacement. so now i have two tubes and an unused transforer, and the guy who fitted the hammond transformer with me joking said i could maybe try making a micro amp? like the zvex nano amp. but i've been looking round the net and can't find anything. I'd like to give it a try but am a bit of a novice with where to start. I like the idea of something that is tiny and can be used in hotel rooms etc when i'm on tour?
soooooooo does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on where to start. it doesn't need to be high tech. i don;t care if it doen;t have tone controls , justs something i can travel with easy.
thanks in advance

unless you're prepared to get hooked on a new hobby---with all the time involved, don't get started building amps ........if its simply something you'd like to jam with when not at home or where-ever your gear is...try one of these ----> http://www.voxamps.co.uk/amplug/ ....really cool---i love mine.
i've built this & love it ---> http://www.guytronix.com/ _________________ ~T~...Live a little >crank it up< ...

| haha well i spend my days and night ripping guitars apart for work so starting to rip amps apart and building them would be another addiction i could let myself get hooked on.. My valve junior already has me getting addicted ,,haha. plus any more knowledge would be great for work.. |

ax84.com has the firefly which is a .5 watt amp.
Its been around for a while, time tested design, and although I have never
built one (at least not yet, but I'm a SLOW builder), I have heard good
things about them.

Unless your a competent electronics engineer i would steer well clear of valve amps. The voltages in them cam kill !!!!
I have had a belt or two from valve amps and I am fully qualified.
One trick we use is to keep your left hand in your back pocket when prodding voltages ! |
