I have a roland ac-100, which is an acoustic amp. It very suddenly stopped working.

The instrument channel produces no sound to the speakers. However, the mic/aux channel does work.

I will get the slightest sounds if i turn on the chorus or reverb in the instrument channel and master volume and volume all the way up, otherwise, nothing.

I was wondering if anyone has had this same problem, or if anyone could point me in the right direction to fix this.

Any thoughts?

Thanks a lot.

HI, thanks for the input,

I am not so sure this is it, as it has two; one for a high and one for a low. Both are not working...

Any other thoughts??

Thanks

Ok, I have to ask this. Its for sure not the cord?

If not, the only thing you can do is pull the chassis out and look for something amiss in the input section of the PC board.

Hi,

Thanks again Mike..

I agree with your theory here... look for the easiest problems first...

I have tried multiple cables... they all work in other sources, unfortunately not this one.

What should I be looking for on the board? Burned out caps, resistors? Any tests you could think of using an ohm meter?

Thanks a lot

OK, before you pull the chassis out is there anything else it could be? Effects loop problem or ?? External/footswitch in the wrong position?

I would look for a bad ground/solder connection at the input jacks. If neither works that should be the only thing the two have in common. Somthing's either shorted or open there. Hopefully it will be easy to check visually or with an ohm meter.
