It's a very long story, see my blog entries if you want all the details the sig has the URL, but I finally got a troublesome GA-5T (Crestline) squared away.

I bought two 60's Gibson Skylarks on ebay for $200 each. Both had bad hum. One of them had the hum go away with a power filter cap job.

The other one had a ton of other problems. Again.. it's all written out at the blog, but I can't tell you how stoked I am that I managed it after all this time. I learned a ton, and had a bit of fun along the way.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to do it for a living, but I'm happy to say I fell comfy fixing the amps I own, and now I am ready to build up my first amp from scratch.

Hope everyone is having fun.

Dilapidus - good job! I got your blog bookmarked and I'll find time to
read it in the next day or 2.
