Im playing the Andrews Amps.
These are made by Jeff Andrews out of Atlanta. You can see his site at www.andrewsamplab.com He has a rather unique design and a different approach to building amps.
These are all Hand Wired / Hand Made one at a time by Jeff........ yadda yadda yadda and all that Jazz. Good quality components with all the fiixxins.
The true unique character of these amps is they use EL84 Tubes but in a more robust power section than has been used before. I cant get into specifics but he builds a Two EL84 and a Four EL84 Amp that will way out power anything close to it at less money than the competition.
He makes the A-22, A-25, A-20V, and A-50. You wont see all the models on his site but they are available.
The A-22 is two EL84 22 watts, the A-25/ two EL84 25 watts, the A-20V two 6V6's and 20 watts, and the A-50 is four EL84's at 50 watts.
To give you an example of the Power of these Amps the 50 watter puts out 50 watts Clean and 80 watts Dimed on a Scope. No one is doing this.
OK now I feel like I'm spamming. |

It's not surprising that you get all excited about the amp and write about it. This is an amp talk forum after all.
The key is that you love the sound, the specs are sort of icing on the cake after the sound is nailed.
I love my little amp. Mine was cheaper too ($500) but the sound is so much fun that I always talk the thing up (www.soundworks.com - the Lil' Lanilei)
If you don't make money when he sells an amp, you aint spamming. _________________ See me fumble with tube amps at http://www.paleoelectronics.com/blog |

I certainly dont make any money from anyones amp sales. If I get something I pay full price for it. If he woks on something I pay full price for it. If I needc an amp worked on I have to get in line like everyone else.
But still I love those Amps. I only have One right now and a 2X12 Cab but I'd like to have at least two. I would like to have the A-22 and one of his 1x12 Cabs for a small rig plus what I have (the 50 watt Head and 2x12 Cab) though I can not afford it right now.
We certainly do like to talk about what we have though I can enjoy almost any Amp even one without Tubes. I have my Crate Power Block Plugging away right now trying to break in a brand new Red Fang. The Crate isa coll little amp that will do lots of things. |
