Hi guys. Sure glad to find this forum. Perhaps you can help me with my problem.

I bought the amp from a friend who played it loud for the year he had it. They practiced in his garage often. Anyway I got a good deal on it... so I thought Smile

The amp buzzed on the clean channel but not on the gain channel at first. That didn't matter cuz I just ran my Line 6 Pod XT live through the effects return. Ran clean for a while.

However just the other night I turned it on and it started buzzing louder and louder and then "WHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... it sounded like a siren almost, really loud. It took about 5 tries at turning it on and finally it stopped that behaviour.

Still as I played it would thump every now and then, go from normal warm tone to tinny sounding...

Now it's got a low buzz going on.

One other thing... when I flip the standby switch down the the volume fades like normal but then it will sometimes kick in a bit and then cutout.

What does it sound it could be to you guys?

REALLY appreciate the help. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks,
Pat

I took the 'head' out from the cab... let her warm up and tapped the tubes with a pencil.... bingo that made one of them go wild.

Tomorrow we'll put some new ones in.

Let me know if you guys have any other thoughts. Smile
