| Not sure if it matters about the model, but mine is a Marshall AV-50H. I disconnected the main part from the outer shell for a couple years now, I remember it smoking and stopped after I did so. I was looking at the shell today and saw that there were 2 rca plugs which i disconnected, along with a small 3-4 pin connector. The RCAs go this metal box that looks like a ballest attached to the top roof of the shell. Does anyone know what this does? Maybe that was the part that smoked... |

This metal box is the spring reverb tank. they are attached by the
rca cables - one being a send, the other a return (yes, they are specific).
The 3-4 tiny pin thing??? I can't picture it.. sorry. |

| Did it affect anything by disconnecting it and not using it? |

Besides not providing reverb (if desired), no, it does not adversly
effect the amp or the non-reverb operation of the amp. |
