| I have a deville 410 I'm pretty sure it's broken but after I play for 3 or 4 minutes it makes these loud random screeches if I stop playing even with the guitar volume knob all the way down it still makes the same noise. If I just turn my amp on without the guitar plugged in it doesn't make the noise but as soon as i play for just a few minutes it comes back until I turn off the amp i'm not sure if maybe a tube is blown but I've never had this problem with other tube amps i've owned any advice would be appreciated |

| i bought a new cord, does the same thing even if I unplug the cord from the amp, when I first turn on the amp it doesn't make the noise or even if i just leave the amp on and don't actually turn the volume up on my guitar it doesn't make any noise until I play for a couple minutes then it begins and won't stop until I turn off the amp, the noise it makes is completely random and even if i move the cord around it seems the noise has something to do with the electronics of my amplifier |

| I think it is my #1 input jack not making good contact because when I put it in 2 it sounds perfect, haha I never really tried it but I just did and it's solid. Thanks alot for all that info |

I have an old Tweed Blues DeVille that was gigged to death when I got it and has given me 11 solid years of gigging it to death. It's having a similar issue (input one went out years ago and was replaced) but in this case it seems to be circuit board related. I didn't use it for a few months (and it sat in a practice room I shared, but I don't think it was abused) and the first time I took it out to a gig it started uctting in and out and making noises one minute into the first song (thank heavens for the Crate Power Block as a back up). The guy who fixes my amps... well, he's a very respected boutique amp builder, and this amp has about exhausted his patience. Two repairs ago he showed me how if you push down on a few spots on the circuit board the amp gets louder. He's warned me after a point he can't resurrect it any more.
I'm thinking of putting one of those Ceriatone kits into the chassis and cab if it is in fact done.
It was a great sounding amp in the clean channel, though. Sounded pretty close to a '59 bassman re-issue. |
