I recently purchased a Gibson Custom Shop 356 , and a ZOOM G9.2tt FX processor. I have been told that for the ZOOM to flourish , I need an amp with a really really good clean channel .. is that right ??

I would like to buy a new tube head with a high quality clean channel that is under a grand ( see the problem ? ). I have been told that the High Gain Vox combo unit fits this bill , but want to build a half stack.

The reason for the ZOOM is that I live in a complex and access to headphones is critical to my playing while at home.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

Thanks , Joel

Well Lefty.........

I don't have an answer for you, but didn't want you to feel like people were ignoring you either.

Fender '65 ReIssue Twin Reverb is an 88 watt tube amp with LOTS of clean headroom for a little over a grand new. You can find them used under a grand easy. It has one drawback - it's heavy!
