I have a chance to buy a 2 year old Peavey Transformer 212 amp for $350.00

This includes the manual and foot switch.
It is listed as "Like New"

I have read different reviews and for the most part, except for a handle attatchment problem, most say good things about it.

Has anyone here actually owned or played thru one?
What are your thoughts on it?

Thanks

I have no personal experience with the amp. Have you played through it? Does it make the sounds you want with your guitar? If it does, $350 isn't a bad price for an amp that does what you want. But if it doesn't, then it's too much and you don't want it.

Hi Herb

No...Haven't played thru it yet.

Guess I was trying to figure out if it was worth going to look at.
From what I have read in the different reviews, it does some very accurate amp modeling.
Also has the ability to upload patches into it.

Reviews would indicate it is a good deal, but was hoping someone had played thru one.

~T~ is right. Peavey wouldn't be around or be as big as it is if they didn't make mostly good stuff. For the price they are great, but they may not quite be as toneful as a high end amp of merit. Like I said, take your guitar and take it for a test drive. Worst thing that could happen is you'll get some practice...... Wink

Over the years, I have heard people that love them, and some that think Peavey in general is crap.

Seems I can't go watch a group that ISN'T using Peavey gear somewhere in their sound system.

I've been happy with my Express.

I like it......I guess......I think...... Rolling Eyes

It's a matter of taking Peavey's presets and then tweaking them into something that I like.
It does have a good sound. Now I just need to find the right tone.
Like I said somewhere before, it's almost like having a 100w Digitech RP80.
