Hey I own a '67 Silverface Fender Bassman head and am having some problems with it. First, the tone is amazing but I get this ridiculous hum every I turn it on and the hum occasionally overpowers the tone and it sounds terrible. I'm looking to eventually record with it and play live so I need to get it to where there's pretty much no hum at all.
I'm also going to get a Monster power conditioner and a hum debugger pedal, however, is there any work I can do to the amp myself without taking it in to a shop? I know that replacing the caps is necessary and it's been about a year since I replaced the tubes in it but do you think that something could be wrong with the transformer or something like that? Thanks and any information would help a lot. |

| Could be lots of things but I'm leaning towards a bad cord? |

| Good idea the cord is pretty ratty now that you mention it. I'll change it and see what happens. |
