I'm currently using a Marshall JCM2000 DSL50 head, into a Mesa Boogie 4x12 Cabinet.

It sounds great, but it isn't EXACTLY what I'm looking for.
I used a Vox AC30 2x12 for some recordings and I really liked it.
I've been looking into getting one, but whenever I tell anyone that I'm going from a DSL50 to an AC30 they have a strange reaction.
"Woah, that's a big change".

I mean, aside from the tonal difference, and the obvious physical difference, what would you guys say is the main difference between Vox and Marshall amps? I know that both companies have quite the legacy, and so it is hard to pin-point specific differences, but what are some common traits for both?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Marshall's have alot of mid range grunt not too mention alot more gain! Vox's have alot less gain and flatter the guitar more at mid gain levels (oooh! Contraversial!!) Marshall= Zakk Wylde, Vox=Brian May. And yeah it's abig change! Heavy Metal vs Classic Rock! Basisally they are completley different amps aimed at different types of music. Both are nice, it's all down to what you prefer.
