I recently got a jcm900 for cheap off ebay, its got a great tone, but after i turn it off, the amp ticks for a few minutes quietly, it sounds like this maybe coming from the tubes/valves or something. Does anyone know anything about this? or how i could sort it? or whether its a tell tale sign that a further problem with the amp will arise?

Try new power tubes. I have had that problem before and that fixed it for me.

This could be the problem, i messaged the seller he explained the tubes were changed a 'couple of years ago;' surely that is far to long? Can anyone recommend any tubes for my jcm900 that will last and help me get a good sound to play thrash/hardcore punk?

When you "ticking" is it a relatively quiet ticking? If it is i think you'll find it's the components cooling down. When they get hot they expand, when they cool down, they contract. A bit like a car engine does when you turn it off after a good run out. All tube amps do it when they cool down. I shouldn't worry about it too much much. If the amp still sounds good, leave it alone and let it do it's thing.
