| Hey Im new to this forum and just wanted to say hi to everyone. I also was wondering what do you guys think of a vintage G412custom avatar with vintage 30 celestions with an orange rockverb100 head or A traditional G412 cab with an orange rockverb100, or should i save up for a 4x12 orange cab. i play more of a progressive/hardcore sort of like fear before the march of flames and the fall of troy. If you guys could help me out that would be great |

As a manufacturer, the conventional wisdom is to buy stuff until you get the sound you want. As a musician I offer this: If you have talent, it doesn't matter what you play through, no one will notice what you sound like. The audience will be too busy watching you play.
I'm sure I'll get some flack for this but hey.........
BTW, a cheap cabinet is usually made cheaply..... pressed wood and butt joints. |

I related this story years ago at this forum: I was walking through a mall one evening and heard a guitarist playing jazz at a resturant open to the mall. This kid was really good and had a great sound. I took a peek at what amp he was using and was surprised to see a Peavey Bandit.
Edited to add: ah the joys of old age- that was my son who heard the jazz player. I was mixing that incident up with another one. |
