I played an incredible amp at my local guitar center today, and it was so damned nice I had to take it home. It had eminence speakers and looks like a Fender copy amp because the knobs go to 12. I paid 800 bucks for it, but they had a promotion deal where you don't have to make payments with no interest for a year, so I took it, figure it's gotta be good with the good speakers in there, and it sounds too nice! Never heard of the brand before, but it's a Holland brand amp, and I can't find out much information on the company other than they make hand-made amps. It's dirty white covering with brown speaker cover, like i said it is 2x12 eminence speakers and 3 power (big) tubes with 3 preamp tubes (smaller tubes) and they glow nice and orange. it has 4 inputs, 2 normal and 2 bright and each one works well, but i like the first input on the normal channel best Smile

anyways, given this information, can you guess what model it is? i think it's a "gibb droll" model based on some harmony-central reviews, but i don't even know the wattage or anything.

any help would be great, I can try and get some pics up i gotta find my camera.

oh, im using my Heritage h-535 through it, sounds great! next maybe ill get another guitar to see what something different sounds like through it.

Thork,

It sound like you have a Holland Gibb Droll 2-12, which is actually a very nice combo amp. They were made by Mike Holland and had a lifetime guarantee and great customer support but unfortunately are no longer in business. It is 50 watts and I may be able to get some more specs for you and maybe even a schematic if you need it. A little history: Amplifiers previously produced in Virginia Beach, VA from 1992 to 2000 and Brentwood, TN from 2000 to 2004. Previously distributed by L&M Amplifiers.
Holland Amplifiers was founded by Mike Holland on April 1, 1992 in Virginia Beach, VA while he was serving in the United States Navy. Mike worked on F14 fighter jets as a structural mechanic. On his kitchen table, using only all American components with specifications that were far above any other amp, Mike created the first Holland Tube Amplifier.
In 1998, Mike contacted Lane Zastrow, President of Lasar Music and former Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Gibson Guitar Corporation, to handle sales and marketing for Holland Amplifiers. Lane and Mike then decided to become partners and formed L&M Amplifiers in July of 2000. L&M is the corporation that owns Holland Amplifiers. In September of 2000, Holland moved its operations from Virginia Beach to Brentwood, Tennessee. Holland produced over ten models and they were distributed throughout the world. Holland Amplifiers are completely handmade with point-to-point wiring, whether it be a standard model or a custom amp. Holland Amps are compatible with all styles of music including rock, country, jazz and blues. In 2004, Holland stopped producing amplifiers and closed the factory. Shortly thereafter, Zastrow leased the former Holland manufacturing space and started building Heritage Amplifiers. Heritage now produces a full line of amplifiers that feature some carryover from the Holland line including the Kenny Burrell model, and they have the same address and phone number as Holland's. Refer to Heritage Amplification for more information. Look up heritage amplifiers online.

Johnny-

Thanks very much for the reply! I think the only other information i'd like is perhaps what kind of tubes came with it originally?

I took it to a local vintage amp tech, and he said it's problem-free, but I don't know if such a boutique-style amp would have come with the tubes in it now? They are a russian electro harmonix... I'd think they would use american tubes, but maybe not.

Thanks!
