Hi there
first: excuse my poor english, I am a German.
One of my amps is a 100% Dumble clone, built in the early 80ties by Wolfram Roy (former KITTY HAWK German amps, founder).
It is a high- quality, custom-built point-to-point amp, strictly based on the circuit of a 70ties "Silverface" Dumble ODS. It sounded just a m a z i n g , when I bought it in 2005. - Since some tech had changed the pots and switches and obviously did some other work which I canīt judge, īīcause I am just a musician. Compared to its previous tone, today it sounds "weak", "poor" and seems to have lost its characteristic tone and "punch" - the typical characteristics we all know that describe an excellent amp. It seems to me that itīs all still in there, but refuses to come out of the thing.
My Intention is, to let repair this amp -in case if Iīll be able to find an excellent technican- and then to retire it and never use it on stage again.
First Question: Do you know a technican, who would be able to help me? Is there any person you can recommend in Europe or must I ship it to US (I know Alexander D. could help me, but I`m afraid he wouldn`t .
Second Question: Is there any TWO ROCK Dealer in Germany? Seems like this could be an option for me.
Third question: From your point of view :What makes the difference between a 100W FUCHS Overdrive Supreme and a 100W TWO ROCK Custom - in both technical and musical respects.
thanks for reply |

Hi Telefreak1,
I have the exact same amp. It belonged to Gregor Hilden before it came to me. There is an amp tech in Germany, Bernd Gillrath, who has worked -on my amp and it sounds great. I will give you his email, bernd@gillrathb.de . He does excellent work and lives in Willich.
Bis Spater,
