Moderator, I wasn't sure where to place this, Boutique or American amps? This section seems to get the most action so I put it here. If you want to move it that's fine with me.

I'm seriously considering buying a vintage 4x10 Bassman. I owned a March 58 5F6-A model and it was my favorite amp of all time. I'm guessing this is THE most copied amp around and I'm wondering what advice and opinions you guys may have about a less expensive alternative.

A less expensive alternative would be the reissue. Old wood cabinets can be beat up and weakened without showing any signs. The electronics in a vintage piece are old as well. The new parts are manufactured to tougher standards and tend to give your amp a longer life.

It is the most copied amp considering the Western Electric design is the basis for the Bassman and the Marshall.
