Hi, I've searched the Fender website and even downloaded the schematics for BDRI, but can't find the info I'm seeking. Maybe this question pertains to most guitar amps, but here goes:
Do the amp tone knobs (treble, middle, bass, presence) each increase/decrease the level of a fixed frequency OR do they sweep through a range of frequencies as you increase/decrease the control setting? If the tone knobs are set to a fixed frequency, how can I find out which frequencies are being tweaked?
thanks,

phatfunkjazz - First, our beloved B/M/T is a passive EQ. For example, by
changing the mids, you effect the frequencies that are adjusted by the treble pot.
Each pot. effects the others and the frequencies range each primarily
effects. So their effects do overlap with the other pots. So to put in in your
own words - "...they sweep through a range of frequencies as you increase
/decrease the control setting.."... kinda.
Wanna read the technicals on this so you see how hard of a question you
are asking?
Here is a 5 page pdf on the 59 bassman tonestack.

Thank you tw001_tw for the link. Since my initial post I've been reading all kinds of info. This will further clarify some questions I've been asking. It's funny, I've evolved from playing my Fender Strat MIM through a multi-effects/amp modeling unit into a 200-watt powered monitor. I got rid of all the other stuff and opted for a simple tube amp (now it's not so simple because I just want to know how it does its work). I should just get back to practicing my guitar, but maybe after I've traveled this road I'll be better at finding "sweet tone" I'm seeking.
