I'm a drummer looking to switch to guitar and am having the darndest time figuring out what kind of amp to buy..Tube or solid state..Some people swear by one and some by the other..I am currently looking at the Hartke GT-100C, (as it has the tube pre-amp) but can't find but 2 user reviews on it..Does anyone own this amp? If so, what do you think of it ?
Tks for any inputs..
JT

Welcome to the Forum! Cool

Amps are very subjective tools, much like drums and cymbals! What sounds great, and work good for one player will smell like skunk to another. You'll just have to get out there and try a bunch of them until you start getting acquainted with what sounds good to you. Cool

Tks SAguitar..I did exactly what you suggested by listening to different amps, and settled on the Line 6, Spider III 150..Don't know if it's the best out there for the money, but I'm having a lot of fun with it while learning the guitar..I appreciate your input..

Very cool! You should pick it up pretty quick. I know that when I decided to learn some drums, I advanced pretty quickly, which was fun. Some of the skills cross over!

Play on,
Stan
