Once again, I am looking at a solid state amplifier (Ibanez 50W)....I've read some reviews and more ften than not the posters say the clean channel is not very bright. I have a Zoom unit that seems to make every amp sound the same (it doesn't matter what amp I plug this thing into, it sounds almost identical). Anyone think that it would help on the Ibanez as well?

Cool Zoom ,
Why waist your money and time with a SOLID STATE amp when all they do is take awy from the TRUE TONE of your GUITAR.

The tube amps are so well loved and used because they give you the exact TONE that resonates from your string through the wood to the pups and thus out that speaker.

Even a FENDER HOT ROD DELUXE will do you fine for under 450.00

Try one you'll love it compared to ANY SOLID STATE AMP and with a GOOD TUBE amd and a GOOD GUITAR you 'll have NO NEED for any pedals.

hiya Dom.......i can certainly understand wanting a new amp #Crazy .....unless you're getting the amp for a steal or free, why get one that you already feel has inferior sound ???----sure your zoom unit will help....but there may be better choices of an amp for you---even your sound with the zoom will be better if you start with a good sounding amp .....perhaps check some out at >>> http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitar/navigation/combos-amps-guitar?N=100001+306260 #Flash

:

Why not buy a cheap solid state amp and buy a soft limiter ?
That would give the valve sound at a fraction of the price.

I usually find the brightness is lacking too but a soft limiter with a treble boost cct would be great.
