Apparently the 12" Scorpion speaker in my peavey special 130 is blown.. I was just curious if I need to replace it with the same speaker it came with.. or if I could throw something like this 12" Black Widow:

in it.

Just curious what my options are here.. Also I can't seem to find much info on the special 130 anywhere.. If someone had a link to some good info on the amp I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

just a note regarding your desire to replace your blown speaker.......personally, i wouldn't replace a peavey factory speaker with another peavey factory speaker...............for your money you can get a much more responsive, toneful, musical sounding speaker from an 'aftermarket' source ......i like the most recent offerings from Eminence speakers....for your applicatiion, perhaps >>>>

--of course there are others from Eminence as well as different companies like Weber & Celestion.

--make sure you purchase a speaker of the same / proper ohms as your amp is designed for (the same as the original speaker)

The Scorpion 12" in my amp is 4ohm.. rated for 150W continuous.. I'm having trouble finding an alternative with these specs...
