Hi guys,
I'm new here on this forum....nice to meet you all!
My first question is,
I want to buy an amplifier but wich to choose?
-Mesa boogie dual rectifier.
-Peavey JSX satriani signature.
The music that i'm playing is from the 1960's to Heavy metal,
I'm want to play with it on Festivals....and big show's and off course in pubs(bars).
is the Peavey JSX as loud like the Mesa-boogie??
What is the differants between these two amps?
Thanks a lot for reply !!!
See you later,
Carlos |

I think the JSX is much less powerfull
If you listen to joe satriani you hear his sound isn't that hard it is more like bluesy sound
So for heavy metal I don't think the amp is suited
A rectifier is pretty good for metal while I would prefer something else like bogner or an amp from the mark era of mesaboogie
But if you really want a rectifier I think you can find a vintage sound for instance in the pushed mode on clean channel and the metal sound a lot really like on the second and especially the third channel |

The Mesa Boogie, im guessing even though the satriani would be ok for other styles, its more suited for people playing a similar style to his, the mesa though again is quite powerful suited to more heavy metal and such, but i guess tweaking the tone controls here and there, and changing to 6L6's you could get something quite decent.
