If half of the 12ax7 preamp tube is used in the output of the circuit, than can you overdrive it like a power tube? There is a solid state power amp after the 12ax7 that amplifies the output, so if it is driven hard enough I assume you will be overdriving the solid state circuit, but can that tube be overdriven like a power tube (possibly at lower volumes)?

I have the same amp.. and same question... Sad

there are two volume on the amp, one call master.... if I want to OD the "valvetronix"(or watever) , which volume I need to turn up?

And about the "gain" knob, I suspect it is a digital effect instead of valve drive.... anyone know more about it?

I am tempted to open the amp and measure the circuite.... (don't worry about voltage, I am experienced electronic engineer) Just want to know before I do some thing violate the warrenty, has anyone got more information about valvetronix design?
