Hello,
I want to buy a good and versatile guitar combo amp. I play in a covers band and we play comercial music, some reggae, etc. But my kind of sound is more like Whitesnake, Extreme, Hardline, things like that. Therefore, I need a amp that is versatile and that is has a good distortion for some heavy metal stuff.
I've checked the Behringer V-Tone GMX212, it has some modeling stuff, they say that it has good tube emulation and 2 channels. It has effects to apply to the 2 channels individuality. I think the effects aren't so great because we can't customize it very well. Also it has two 12' speakers Jensen. I think the output power is 2x50 Watt(This means that it has 100Watt???).
Also I've checked the Crate GT212, it's a more simple amp than the Behringer. However it has 3 independent channels(clean, rhythm, solo) and I like that feature. It has no effects(no problem to me because I'm no effects guitarist, just the simple like delay, wahwah, chorus, and I can achieve that with some simple pedals). It has two 12' speakers and 120 Watt of output power. I think it also has some good tube emulation.
Ok, what I need to know is about the sound of each(I couldn't find sound samples in the net) and which fits better my needs or if there are better combo amps to do the job.
Thnks. |

ive played the beringer...and i like it. but for what your doing snag the crate.....the gts are almost the same as the gfx2x12 amp i have.....and i offed my 50 watt marshall 1/2 stack to retool for what i have now. ive been jammin for 30 plus years , always played marshalls....and love what crate has to offer in their amp line up.....so hope this helped. my crate gets me any where from the whitesnake/zak wylde sound....to smooth larry carlton jazz sound.......its a keeper.

the Behringer would be okay--but the Crate would be a better choice for what you described. _________________ ~T~...Live a little >crank it up< ...

draw back to the behringer is the 2x12 jensens shut off if you run a cabinet. i played one it it seemed pretty choice.....but i need to try any amp live......then it passes my test or it fails........
