Hey. So i just finished rebuilding this bandmaster back to AB763 specs, the only original parts are the transformers and choke and pots. There is clearly a problem with the power amp. The preamp works fine. I tested it out and everything works. when i plug it into a cab and turn the standby on, I get a horrible sound that is incredibly loud. The frequency is about 2kHz, which i measured on my scope.

everything up to and after the PI is working. Im thinking of pulling out the output transformer and testing it, but i dont think that is the problem, because it worked not too long ago. I am going to retrace everything again, but im sure there is a problem with the power amp.

Hi
Did you try reversing the leads on the speaker output jack?

You got the Blue and the Brown wires off the output transformer backwards.
