Hello,
I have a 5 watt class A crate V8 palomino.
Will a celestion G10 work as a speaker upgrade?
It is rated at 60 watts, I know a class A 5 watt would probably be about as loud is a 30 to 50 watt solid state.
Will this speaker work or wrech my amp??
thanks,
Joe |

howdy doc.....i owned this amp when it first showed up on the musiciansfriend website... cool good sounding little amp & pretty too.....as you know it comes with a Celestion 10" speaker--i don't remember which model- but i replaced it with one of these ---> http://warehousespeakers.com/products.php?cat=8 ....for me, a really nice improvement--i'm not real big on 10" speakers for the sound i like...but i much preferred this one over the stocker---
--i think for an amp at 5 watts, a speaker with a power rating of 20 or 30 is preferrable for a good all around rock or blues type playing style--depending on the sound you're after, a speaker like the Weber blue pup with a power rating of 12 watts would give you even earlier crunch--of course the speaker you mention is a good speaker & will also work fine in your amp, altho it will offer up much headroom & you'll need a pedal to get some crunch---depends on the types of music you play--for instance, a 60 watt rating would be preferrable for the cleans of jazz music...
good luck & let us know what you end up doing _________________ ~T~...Live a little >crank it up< ...
