| I've got a few problems with my old Marshall 12W practice amp and been testing the pots. Gain, Treble and Bass are stamped as B22K and Mid is stamped as 4.7K, so they're easy enough to test. But volume is stamped as AIM so I'm wondering how much resistance I should expect to see on it and what an equivalent replacement part might be if it is faulty. |

Well, of course you could just use a meter to check the resistance, but I would
guess - remember, I'm not there to see it - that it doesn't say AIM, it says A1M.
So I suspect its a 1 megohm potentiometer.

How embarrassing. It's obviously been too long since I've worked on this stuff.
Checking the resistance woudn't help because I'm pretty sure this pot is stuffed, ie. no change to resistance through the dial settings. But maybe looking at it in better light might have helped.
