Hello, I wonder if any one would be kind enough to answer this....
After getting fed up with digital effect units (line6), im planning to go back to valve amps, im looking at the older marshall heads in particular JCM800. My band mate rekons some thing like a sansamp PSA1 or JMP preamp running in to a valve power amp (like marshalls EL34-50/50), would be more suited to my playing/needs.
My question is this.... To get the best of both worlds, could I get a JCM800 head and plug a PSA1 in to the effect loop RETURN to bypass the 800s preamp but take advantage of its power amp. Furthermore, (heres the tough bit), how could i rig up some kind of foot switch(s) so that i could also use the JCM800s preamp (and poweramp) with out having to stop and unplug the PSA1????? I dont really want to mod the amp, i was thinking some kind of A/B swtich system. (hint: I think the PSA 1 has a bypass mode). Its bending my brain trying to figure it out!
