Guys,
I got a Fender Deluxe with the serial # F146345. I think it is a silverface but with the black cosmetics. I am guessing it is 1980's. I don't have the amp yet but I think that it is point to point wiring. It is possible for me to convert this to a black face amp?
Here is the link so that you may see it for yourself:

thanks for all help with this |

| Buzz, I think the Fender re-issues had printed circuits. This makes any re-work difficult. The good news is the re-issues got away from some of the "Silverface" problems. |

Tim.....are you sure that this is a reissue? I was looking at this on a site on the internet and it appeared to be a 1970 something to 1980 model which would mean that it didn't have the printed circut board and was wired point to point....??
Tim, check out this site and tell me if you think that it is point to point or not:

the amp that I bought is here:

thanks for your time! |

You're right Buzz. The two amps look the same. Yup, your amp will be point to point wired. It will be easy to return most of the guts to pre-CBS specs. There are some mods that are difficult to make. I did a re-make of my Twin-Reverb years ago, and I remember there were some things I just couldn't do. Yours may have the retro mods done already. When I modify a circuit, I leave a note for future techs written on the inside of the chassis telling what I changed, and the date.
According to the info at Ampwares, your amp was made somewhere between late 1980 and 1982. |

| A really simple thing to look at is the ground switch. The reissues have a dummy that is not wired, it is purly cosmetic. |
