G'day how are ya's. I've got a marshall VS100RH head and when i'm playing it sometimes just cuts out, all I can do is turn it off and turn it on again, the power light is still on though. What could this be??

Also my bottom two speakers of my cab don't work at all, if they blew up wouldn't all the speakers blow up?? How can I tell if I need new speakers or could it be just wiring??
Thanks very much

I just turn it off at the power button and straight back on and it's fine again. It is a valvestate amp
Cheers mate

Valvestate = tube preamp. I would start by examining the tubes. Preamp valves are generally the number one suspect in cases of lost sound. Make sure the tubes are burning a steady orange and at roughly the same brightness. If any are excessively dim or bright (or blue, God forbid), I would recommend replacing them all and seeing if that solves your problem. If it doesn't, or if the problem comes back in a few weeks, you probably have an electrical problem.

If possible, you should plug another amp into the cab and see if you still have the speaker issue. Unless there is some severe catastrophe going on with the amp's powered outputs that has rained death upon all things electrical, the cabinet is probably okay, but you never know.

Where would I purchase faulty tubes, a mate of mine told me that they were blown. Can you get them off the net?
Cheers mate

Shocked You don't need faulty tubes, you already might have that, but you need new tubes, Have you tried Musicians Friend? you can get them there and they will ship to you, And when you replace your tubes, don't turn on you amp and start playin without at least a 2 min warm up time so the plates can get hot, this can cause a tube failure as well, Be Well!!

This may seem obvious but check the impedance of the cab matches the setting on the rear panel of your amp... this could also be causing the 'random' cut-outs on your amp.
