I decided to go with the PR II. It is in excellent condition. An awesome clean warm Fender tone. It has the original speaker and tubes by the look of it. Didn't have the footswitch though but I'll be on the look out for one. I'll be retubing in the next few months and probably changing the speaker. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

How you doing Caper? I bought a Twin Reverb II years ago minus the footswitch. I looked for years and gave up. Then I found a Super Champ for a great price with the footswitch. Fender used the same switch I believe for all the dual channel amps of that era. This was before the internet got so big, so maybe you'll have good luck finding one on-line.

Tim I saw a few vintage two button foot switches on ebay with the two RCA jacks. Do you know if they will work on this amp?

Caper, that is one fine looking amp. (And guitar) My nephew borrowed my big piggy-back TwinII and that's back in California. I'm in Texas on vacation so I can't look at the plugs on the footswitch. The plugs on the footswitch that works in my Super Champ and Twin are 1/4" phone plugs and at least one of them is a stereo plug. It dosen't look like the one in the picture.

Caper, read MurkyMark's reply to Dan's post about dating his Fender amp a few posts earlier. I went to the website, and there is a lot of info there. I remember my II footswitch is labeled Lead and Reverb.

Without having to spend a fortune on different speakers I wonder which ones will compliment this amp using a Tele or Strat. I have been thinking about a Celestion V30 and a Jenson C12K

There I go again, posting without signing in. I'm burnt out. Going back to school at 41 with a family is trying at times. I took two courses that don't finish for another 4 weeks. Just 3 yrs. left |

Caper, I haven't bought speakers in years. I always was partial to either Kendrick Black Frames, Celestion Vintage 30's or Peavey Black Widows. JBL used to make awesome speakers. Somebody's sure to jump in here with what the best deal is now on good speakers. The Peavey Scorpion used to be a good speaker for a reasonable price.
