I am fed up with the volume knob on my Fender Princeton 112 being as sensitive as it is. You either have the volume just barely there, or blasting at the slightest movement of the knob. Does anybody know how to adjust this? Is there a different pot that I need for the amp? _________________ Hello. |

| I've heard that newer Fenders are set up with a different kind of potentiometer for the volume knob in order to appear louder instore so they can sell more units. I don't know if that's the reason, but you could always check if your amp's volume pot is a logerithmic (or analog, same thing). The human ear percieves loudness in a way that it takes twice the power to hear a slight change in level, so log or analog pots are designed so that halfway through is half loud, but not half resistance. If it's not a log pot, it's an easy replacement for a tech to do. Just take all necessary precautions if you have to open up an amp. Good luck. |

flowersc was right on. here's a link to a site talking about this problem and the fix in depth about a hot rod deluxe. but i have a blues deville, same problem. so i'm sure it's the same thing on your amp.
