hello everybody!!!!!
I would like to know your opinions on the jcm 800 50 watt split channel 1x12 amp. I have a chance to get one, but I want to know more about it. I know it has 2 el34 an 5 12ax7, 2 channels, both with eq and volume (the boost channel has also gain an mid controls) and finally, master volume and reverb nobs. the original celestion g12t speaker was changed for a fane 100 watt from the 70's. What do you think about it?
THanx!

| Howdy to you yoni74. I've got one just like you describe. I like it fine. How much $ is it going to cost? |

hi there!
i finally bought it for 700 €, brand new ruby EL34B-STR tubes and re-biasing included in the price. it sounds very good, pretty loud for 50 watts an has a full and rich sound. i'm happy with it!
i heard there's a couple of modifications you can make to this model. do you know anything about the matter? for instance, making it switchable class A, A/B? first of all i have to admit i have no idea at all of what this means, but i promise i read it somewhere
any help?
cheers!

| yoni74- If your new amp has a full and rich sound, I sure wouldn't mess around trying to modify it. I have amps I never could get to sound really good, no matter what I did to them. To modify an amp to be able to run either A or AB is not a simple mod. It would be much $ to have a tech do it, for not so great a return for your money. |
