Ok it was a stupid mistake but after pulling my amp apart to try and cure some rattles I put it back together and put the 12ax7 tubes in the EL84 sockets and visa versa . After turning it on and finding no sound I realized what had happened. I turned it off and returned the tubes to their correct place.Still no sound. The heaters are glowing but no sound. As I did other work on the electrics I am not sure ifwhat I did to the valves has stuffed them.I have been able to fit new 12ax7,s but not EL84,s.
Can anyone tell me if what I did with the valves has harmed them.
Look forward to some help here. Thanks

Does your amp use a GZ34/5ar4 or a 5y3 as a rectifier?
sounds like a blown rectifier tube....
Just a thought, as I am not fully versed in tube application....yet.
let me know what you find out....
