I'm a beginning guitarist. I just bought a beautiful Gibson es 137 Custom. I'm in the market for a new amp to complement my guitar purchase. I've had a few reccommendations, one of them being the Tech 21. All I want is a simple to use amp with a VERY low learning curve, one that isn't going to take me hours and days to figure-out how to use or program it's settings.

The other reccommendations were for the Fender Cyber Twin SE going for $1300, and the Pritchard Sword of Satori going for $2000.

The Tech 21 was reccommended to me as a result of my current budget. As of right now, I can't afford the Sword of Satori. And though I CAN afford the Cyber Twin SE, that amp just looks SO complicated with a HUGE learning curve that I just don't want to make a mistake ordering it and then find-out that I'm not going to know how to use it. I'm a TOTAL beginner. The reason I'm buying such HIGH-END equipment is because I want to avoid wasting money on cheap product and buy stuff that's going to last me a lifetime. The guitar is a REAL GEM, it's just SO beautiful I couldn't pass on it. It will be here on Friday.

A friend who has been playing guitar for over 45 years HIGHLY reccommended the Tech 21 as a temporary solution so that I can save my money for the more expensive Sword of Satori. But, the Tech 21 is a $500 investment.

My question is: Being a beginner, would it be wiser to get the Tech 21 and avoid the more expensive amps for at least a year until I learn how to play? Or should I save my money for a month and invest in one of the more expensive amps that I listed?

Thanks for any input Wink

the tech 21 is a good choice......but i would recommend something less complicated for a new guitarist so as to concentrate on learning the guitar instead of working all the doodads on the amp.. #Crazy ....

--or, for something that is good fun and a good learning tool ( i use this with a few peeps i'm helping learn guitar & they love it--i do too) --->

make sure you click on the catagories to the right to learn all about it....this would be the one i would recommend for you.
good luck & let us know how its going.
