|
|
Hi everyone.
I've had this ongoing problem when I lived with my folks where my amp, once switched on and my guitar plugged in, would pick up the noise from my folks' hearing loop system.
For those who don't know what that is, it's a system that locally broadcasts audio that can be picked up on a special channel on hearing aids so the wearer can hear things like the telephone or the TV (also used in many public places). My folks' had it connected to their TV so they can hear it better, but it also meant that I would hear loud and clear whatever they're watching through my guitar amp.
I was going to look for a solution but then I moved out, so I didn't worry about it. Now though, at my new flat, someone nearby seems to have a similar system setup and I can hear it through my amp again.
Is there any way I can stop this from happening? It doesn't seem to matter what guitar/amp combo I use.
Thanks in advance |

Sorry - I don't. Slight radio frequencies that the amp is picking up is
one thing. Hums/etc. from florescent lamps and the like - that is
another thing. But with such a strong transmitter in such close
proximity... thats a tough one - especially if you are not in control of it (if
it has a simple 2 or 3 channel selector, or whatever).
Maybe covering the open part of the chassis (once its out of the cabinet I'm
referring too) with copper shielding????? Only a long shot of a guess. |

| Hmmm... I have an acoustic amp that picks up a Mexican radio station when it's upstairs. Maybe just try moving it around. |
