So far you guys are on the money, glad to hang with you, Next though, wad duh ya know about the rubber stamps on cabinets and on the chassis, are they suppose to match or as they went from electric line to cabinet shop did they get different numbers, looking at this 65 Deluxe Reverb and the cabinet has a stamp of 3F 1465 and the chasis has a stamp of 8C 1465, dont know what all this means but they dont jive with each other except for the sequence of the 1465, I have a 64 Twin Reverb and the cab does not match the chassis and a 65 Super Reverb and it does not match either, dont know what was going on at the assembly line in those days and I dont want to read to much into this, please shed some light if ya know, FYI the Super Reverb has a 2F 2365 on the cabinet and the chassis had TC 2265 The Twin Reverb had RD 1564 on the cabinet and AB 1564 on the chassis. Looking at the 20th Century Guitar article by Gagliano is very informative, hopefullly they are looking into solving the assembly line coding that was used, God only knows how it was formatted and I was not there, one of my cab's has got "Slim" etched in yellow crayon inside of a side panel, guess it is like the guitars that had pencil etchings inside the routing cavities, anyhow give me your thoughts, and thanks again "ouddatune" for your reply or however you spelled that outoftune, thanks again, maybe I'm out of tune |
