Looking at a 65 Deluxe Reverb, Have found info on the speaker that should have came from the factory and the only listing I have seen was a Oxford 12K5T6. Have also read many articles about those great sounding Jensens that supposedly came installed. I dont know for myself and need some input from this posting board. The amp has in it a C12P, does this wash or is it just another period correct replacement, any help is appreciated  |

i've owned 4 DR amps--they've all come from the factory with the Oxford 12K5T-6 ......according to everything i find in my research files, that is the proper factory speaker as shipped.

altho fender used Jensens in a number of different amp models, i've never seen or heard of them as factory installed in a DR.....my files show as follows:'63-'67(blackface)=Oxford 12k5-6----'68-'82(silverface)=Oxford 12k5-6 / Utah /CTS----'93-present('65 reissue)=Eminence 12"....

i've never heard of a jensen C12P...perhaps it's a C12R ???....either way, whatever jensen it is.. the C series are a lower cost vintage correct replacement speaker......not a bad choice..but there are certainly better choices out there that will open up that DR & help it soar to tonal heights that will make you smile........
thats about the best i can do----maybe someone else has a bit more knowledge on this
