|
|
I am looking for the correct cable to use to make the line out function as an effects look.
I read that I need an Audio Y-Cable. I want to make sure I purchase the right one.
I found one on ebay but want to make sure it is the right cable, I cannot post the ebay auction because the forum will not allow me to.
Will running my pedals through the effects loop make them sound better?
thanks |

Well.... maybe. The point of an effects loop is to run effects after the
preamp....um... let me explain this way.
The general rule of thumb is this:
guitar
distortion and/or overdrives
modulating effects (reverb, chorus, etc)
then amplification at the power stage then speakers.
So, since the preamp of the amp colors the tone, or might/will add a bit
of overdrive (depending on amp settings and design), if you stay within
the realm of convention, you would want at least your modulating effects
in the effects loop. This is NOT a hard and fast rule, its just the basis to
build upon. Consider an amp like an 18 watt with el84's - the vast majority
of the overdriven sound comes from the power tubes, and you can't put
any effect in the chain after the power tubes.... so to answer your question
will it make your effects sound better? Maybe. Sorry I can't be more
specific. |

Even a better choice.
I was wondering what you were planning to do with the 3' male ends. |
