Hi All, Newbie at this site, the way things look at the moment I will probably spend some time here, I have the ac30 cc2x12, it was manufactured in august 2007, I have had it from new( from the dealers) six months now, about one month ago I switched the power on, allowed it a couple of minutes to warm up then switched the standby on, hey presto, red and green lights as it should be, but no sound, anyone have any ideas?

Speakers connected? Bad pre amp tube? If your standby light is coming on, then it's probably a pre amp or a speaker issue.

Thanks for the reply, the speaker connections seem to be ok, yesterday I ordered a full set of Tesla tubes, rectifier/ preamp and power, this problem has happend twice now, the first time my father-in-law took the amp apart, put it back together ( just touching and pressing things ) and it worked no problem for a few weeks, then a few days ago same story, I did the same never touched the tubes, just pressed on a few of the plastic wire connectors that i could see, now it works again, ( currently it has a full set of sovtec tubes that it came with from new), hopefully the tube is the problem, what are your thoughts on tesla tubes ?

The Tesla tube are great, but I don't think that's your problem since this is a recurring problem. You probably have a soldering/connection issue, which will require an experienced tech to solve.

Thanks for the reply, I will have a tech take a look at it, once ( hopefully ) the problem is cured I will put the Tesla tubes in, thanks again.
